Hailed for her "glorious voice" and "impressive performances," soprano Janette M. Lallier has a voice of remarkable size and color. Since returning from two years abroad in Quito, Ecuador, Ms. Lallier’s mastery of opera and art song has earned her a First Prize in the National Association of Teachers of Singing competition, as well as the French Art Song award in the same competition. Ms. Lallier became the first Meriden native to win the prestigious Rosa Ponselle Scholarship Competition. A featured soloist for the Milton Centre Music Series, NYC’s Mendelssohn Glee Club, the Boston Classical Orchestra, and the Lehigh Valley Symphony she has been heard throughout the United States and South America interpreting opera, oratorio, and classical music. Ms. Lallier make her operatic debut with Opera Providence in its innovative "Murder and Mayhem", a program of Opera and Silent Film.  She has also been seen in the roles of Magda (The Consul) with Bronx Opera, Santuzza (Cavalleria Rusticana) with Chelsea Opera and Opera Providence, and the Mother (Hansel & Gretel) with Opera Providence and Cape Cod Opera.   As a concert artist she has added her voice to the Opera Providence's celebrated 'Opera on the Hill' series in Providence's Historic Federal Hill and was honored to perform Strauss' Four Last Songs for the dedication of a new piano in Providence's revered Music Mansion and to reprise the role of Hansel & Gretel's Mother in Cape Cod Opera's November production. Originally from Meriden, Connecticut, Ms. Lallier received her bachelors and masters degrees from the University of Connecticut, Storrs. She currently lives in New York City and continues her professional studies in voice at The Institute for Musical Arts with soprano Betti McDonald.
